The 20-year-old’s current contract with the North London heavyweights is set to expire in the summer of 2024, and there has been a host of rumours surrounding his future over the last few months.
Manchester City and Liverpool are both believed to be admirers of the England international forward, who is widely expected to be a part of the Gareth Southgate squad that travels to the 2022 World Cup.
However, the Gunners have been working to convince the youngster to stay at the Emirates Stadium, with North London giants, head coach Mikel Arteta recently reporting that it was only “a matter of time” before an agreement was reached over a fresh deal.
“We will try,” Arteta told football.london. “We both have the same intention. It’s a matter of time.”
According to the Daily Mail, the Norht London giants have now offered the attacker a long-term contract that will double his wages to around £140,000 a week.
Man City are believed to view Saka as the ideal replacement for Raheem Sterling, while Liverpool consider him as Sadio Mane’s ideal replacement.
Saka was in fine form for the Gunners during the 2021-22 season, founding back of the net 12 times and providing seven assists in 43 games in all competitions.
