Arsenal still interested in signing of 27-year-old Man Utd star

Arsenal have allegedly ‘not ruled out’ making a summer move for Manchester United playmaker Jesse Lingard when the next transfer window will be re-opened.

Having fallen down the pecking order at the 20-times English champions, Lingard is believed to be made available by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at the end of the current campaign.

While Lingard’s asking price currently stays unclear, the England international is unlikely to be short of options despite his poor form.

According to The Athletic, the Gunners may enter the race for the 27-year-old in order to strengthen their midfield area, especially if they are unable to secure a permanent contract for their current loanee Dabi Ceballos.

With the English playmaker having just over a year left on his current deal, the North London club may be able to push through the transfer for a cut-price transfer fee.

Lingard has made 17 starts and came from the bench 17 times in all competitions this campaign, founding back of the net only twice.

Another Man Utd midfielder Angel Gomes has been also linked with an exit from Old Trafford as their direct Premier League rivals Chelsea are keen on to lure him at Stamford Bridge.
