According to Sky in Italy and Guardian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal are monitoring the current situation of RB Salzburg midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, with an eye on future transfer markets.
Speaking on the Here We Go podcast, it is stated that Szoboszlai is on Arsenal’s wishlist but Aouar remains the number one target.
As first claimed by football.london, Arsenal have monitored his progress at Salzburg for some time and even made contact with his agents as they searched for a potential replacement for Aaron Ramsey last year.
He is a creative midfielder who has featured wide on the left in a 4-4-2 as well as a number 10 and central midfielder for RB Salzburg.
The midfielder has continued his brilliant form from recent seasons in the current season, providing three assists and scoring three goals in six games across all competitions.
Whilst Arsenal have continued to monitor Dominik, it is said that no concrete approach was made in the summer market, with other clubs also keen.
Napoli and AC Milan are believed to be among his admirers, whilst Paris Saint-Germain have also tracked the highly-regarded midfielder.
His entourage, Matyas Esterhazy previously stated that there were already “several offers” in place.
“When deciding about the future the most important thing that I will take into consideration is playing continuously,” Matyas told Hungarian publication Nemezeti Sport in July.
“Playing in the Europa League or Champions League in the next year is not a priority. Some personal aspects will be also taken into account.”
