Arsenal urged to make approach for 15-goals in 29-games Serie A attacker

Nigel Winterburn maintains Roma’s Tammy Abraham would be a good fit for his former club Arsenal amid the England international’s top form.

Tammy swapped Chelsea for I Giallorossi last summer but was linked with a transfer to the Emirates before signing for the Serie A club.

The 24-year-old star is thriving under the Portuguese tactician Jose Mourinho, recently breaking a record for the most goals netted in a debut campaign at the Italian outfit after his brace against arch-rivals Lazio last weekend.

While Winterburn does not think the striker would switch back to the Premier League next term, the Emirates icon suggests he’d still be a good recruit for Mikel Arteta’s side.

‘Back in the summer when he was moving, there was a link with Arsenal, I don’t know how strong, but he fits into the bill of what Arsenal were trying to do,’ Nigel told FreeSuperTips of Abraham.

‘A young player with huge potential, so my opinion doesn’t change that he would have been a great option for Arsenal.

‘I would suggest that if he’s enjoying himself, then he wouldn’t want to move. He’s playing regular football, so I don’t feel like he would move back to England next season.’
