Liverpool forward Divock Origi has reportedly emerged as a surprise transfer target for Aston Villa.
The 25-year-old forward once again a regular for the Reds during the 2019-20 season, playing 42 games in all competitions, founding back of the net six times and providing four assists for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
The Belgium international forward still has four years left on his current deal at Anfield, however, could leave Jurgen Klopp’s teams this summer, having struggled for starts during the recent campaign.
According to The Sun, Villa, who managed to avoid relegation from the English top-tier on the final day of the campaign, are interested in securing a move for 25-year-old forward in order to avoid the same scenario.
The report suggests that Dean Smith is determined to strengthen his attacking options ahead of next campaign and will offer Belgian forward regular football in the build-up to next summer’s European Championships.
The Belgian has managed to found back of the net 34 times in 140 games for Liverpool in all competitions.
