Barcelona enter the race for £300,000-a-week Man United midfielder

Barcelona have entered the battle to sign Man United midfielder Paul Pogba who is in the final year of his deal with the Red Devils and is also being pursued by Real Madrid, PSG and Juventus.

France international is currently in the sixth campaign of his second stint with the Red Devils, having returned on a club-record transfer deal from the Bianconeri. Since then, Pogba has not always been the most consistent performer but, when on the song, there are few better than him in this Red Devils side.

That has been the case since the turn of the year, with Paul helping Man United finish as runners-up in the PL and UEL. The 28-year-old midfielder has started the new season fantastically as well, registering seven assists from only four league matches already.

However, with him entering the final year of his contract, the French midfielder’s future at Man United has become a subject of speculation. Los Blancos have been long-term admirers of the World Cup winner, with former coach Zinedine Zidane having been keen on signing the midfielder for a while now.

And even though he is not in charge of the team anymore, president Florentino Perez stays a huge admirer of Pogba and wants him at Real Madrid next summer.

With Luka Modric not getting any younger and with his deal running out, there will be a need for a new midfield reinforcement at the Santiago Bernabeu, making the Frenchman a viable transfer target.
