Barcelona are reportedly planning to revive their interest in Dutch pair Memphis Depay and Georginio Wijnaldum in the current transfer window reopens in January also planning to do the same with Man City centre-back Eric Garcia.
All three are known to have been among the Spanish outfit’s top transfer targets this summer, however, financial issues caused by the coronavirus lockdown prevented them from finalising a deal for any of them.
Dutch head-coach, Ronald Koeman has already confirmed his ongoing interest in compatriots Wijnaldum and Memphis, though, while La Masia graduate Garcia is also still a transfer target.
All three players are out of deals next summer as things stand, however, Mundo Deportivo reports that the Catalan club will not wait until the summer and will instead look to secure their services in January.
The Catalan giants are reportedly confident that they can secure the trio’s services on the cheap following to their expiring deals, with Lyon, Man City and Liverpool expected to consider cashing in on them instead of losing them for free at the end of the campaign.
Liverpool’s Wijnaldum is believed to be open to remaining at Anfield, while head-coach Jurgen Klopp is keen to keep the midfielder for at least the whole of this campaign.
However, both Memphis and Garcia have already signalled their intent to join Barcelona in January.
