La Liga giants, Barcelona will reportedly put their contract proposal to Gavi “in the next few days”, with the Catalan outfit believing that it is only a “matter of time” before an agreement is reached.

The 17-year-old playmaker who became Spain’s youngest ever international last month, has broken into the Catalan giants first team this campaign, playing 14 games in all competitions.

Gavi’s current contract at Camp Nou set to expire in June 2023, and a number of teams, including Liverpool and Manchester United, have allegedly been keeping close tabs on the situation.

However, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Spanish giants are confident of reaching an agreement with the playmaker over a new five-year deal.

Romano reports that the deal will be discussed “in the next few days”, and the proposed agreement will include a yearly rise in wages for the talented Spanish midfielder.

Gavi has played 10 La Liga games for La Liga giants, Barcelona during the 2021-22 season, in addition to featuring in all four of their Champions League games against Bayern Munich, Benfica and Dynamo Kiev.

Liverpool and Man Utd also eyeing move for another Barcelona midfielder Pedri, however, it seems unlikely that Catalan giants would allow talented midfielder pair to leave the club.
