La Liga giants Barcelona have reportedly emerged as favourites to sign highly-rated playmaker Cesar Gelabert from their arch-rivals Real Madrid.

The report also claims that Arsenal are very interested in securing the services of talented midfielder. At the same time, their Premier League rivals Man United also keeping tabs on the player contract.

The 19-year-old talented midfielder is yet to make his breakthrough into the Los Blancos first team, however, has been tipped as one of the brightest players to emerge from the teams academy in recent years.

However, his contract with Spanish giants is due to expire next season and Gelabert is keen for more assurances on his first-team minutes under head-coach Zinedine Zidane before committing his future to the club.

AS reports that Barcelona are at the favourites to sign him if he fails to agree on a new contract, with the Spanish champions hopeful that a good enough offer would tempt the Los Blancos into selling despite the rivalry between each other.

Lyon, Real Zaragoza and Borussia Dortmund have also been credited with an interest in the 19-year-old midfielder, who is currently some way down the packed attacking midfield pecking order at Madrid.
