Barcelona are reportedly planning to make a move for experienced Argentine defender Ezequiel Garay.
The Spanish giants have injury problems at the back with Gerard Pique ruled out for four to five months, Samuel Umtiti and Ronald Araujo are also on the sidelines, which has seen Oscar Mingueza getting a starting role against Dynamo Kiev in the Champions League group stage.
Barcelona head-coach Ronald Koeman still wants to sign his top transfer target Eric Garcia from Manchester City, however, it remains to be seen whether the Citizens will allow the Spaniard to depart from the club when the transfer window will be re-opened in January.
According to Sport, Garay has emerged as an option for Catalan giants as he is currently available on a free transfer, having left La Liga giants, Valencia earlier this year following the expiration of his current deal.
Liverpool have also been credited with an interest in the 34-year-old defender, who represented Argentina at the 2014 World Cup.
Garay has played 31 games for the Los Blancos between 2009 and 2011, while he played over 100 matches for Valencia before his exit over the summer.
