Barcelona have been urged to land Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino instead of Inter Milan ace Lautaro Martinez by Bojan Krkic.
Blaugrana are believed to be closing in on a deal for the Argentine striker, who has scored 19 goals in 32 matches this campaign and has also been linked with Premier League giants Chelsea.
But former Barcelona and Stoke City forward Bojan believes Brazilian forward Firmino would be a better fit for the Catalan heavyweights.
Firmino has scored 77 goals for the Reds since arriving at Anfield in 2015 and helped Jurgen Klopp’s side win the UCL last season and dominate the PL this term.
Krkic told Sport: ‘Inter Milan do not usually take the initiative and that makes me think that Lautaro could occupy an area at Barca that is not naturally his. ‘[That is] something that would certainly be a shame.
‘If you allow me a name, I would bet more on Roberto Firmino: a link player, with a lot of presence and great mobility.’
In other news, Leeds United have allegedly emerged as the most likely destination for Linfield talent and Liverpool target Charlie Allen.
The youngster made his senior debut for the Northern Irish side at the age of 15, resulting in the now-16-year-old drawing regular attention from clubs in England and Scotland.
Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester City are all understood to be among the interested parties, while Rangers reportedly have ambitions to take the talent to Glasgow.
However, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds are at the front of the queue for him, whose manager is former attacker David Healy.
