Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich are reportedly both interested in securing the services of Chelsea striker Timo Werner during next summer’s transfer window.

The 25-year-old forward has found back of the net his first Premier League goal of the campaign in Saturday’s 3-1 victory over Southampton, however, he has only managed two goals in eight appearances in all competitions this season.

Timo Werner has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge in terms of the attacking spot, meanwhile, following Romelu Lukaku’s return to the team over the summer.

The Germany international started as a right-sided forward against Southampton, however, it remains unclear whether he is in head coach Thomas Tuchel’s plans moving forward.

According to the Evening Standard, both Dortmund and Bayern Munich are keeping close tabs on the situation, with the Bundesliga pair keen on signing him ahead of the 2022-23 season.

Timo Werner has found the back of the net on 14 occasions in 60 games for the west London club since arriving from RB Leipzig in July 2020, in addition to providing 16 assists.

La Liga giants, Atletico Madrid have also linked with a move for Chelsea forward as they identified him as a perfect replacement for Luis Suarez.
