Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski has claimed that he has no need to “prove himself” in another country amid rumours surrounding a Premier League transfer.

The Poland international’s future with the German champions has been called into question recently, with his current contract in Bavaria following to expire in 2023.

Robert Lewandowski has been rumoured with the likes of Man City, Liverpool and Real Madrid, however, the 33-year-old has now played down talk of an imminent exit from Bayern Munich.

Addressing the media after collecting the European Golden Shoe, Robert Lewandowski said: “I don’t have to prove myself in another league.

“I can compete with the best from other leagues in the Champions League. I am 100% focused on Bayern Munich, I don’t think about anything else but my team. I am still here – and I will be here for a long time!

“Age, these are just numbers. I feel very good, I have the best stats I’ve ever had. I know that with my body I can play at the top level for years to come. I’m like a good wine and I hope to get even better.”

Polish forward has already scored 11 goals from seven games in all competitions this season, which has taken his overall tally to 305 strikes from 336 appearances in a Bayern shirt.
