Manchester United have allegedly missed out on signing Bayern Munich star Leon Goretzka, who is set for a fresh contract at the Allianz Arena.
The 26-year-old midfielder has been a key figure in the middle of the park for Bayern since his arrival three years ago, and Leon remains a consistent name on the team sheet for Die Roten, having featured in all four Bundesliga matches so far this season.
His current deal with Julian Nagelsmann’s side is due to expire next year, and negotiations for a contract extension were reportedly delayed as the Red Devils came into the mix for the player’s signature.
However, Bavarian Football Works states that the discussions have now been concluded and the club have agreed on a fresh contract with the midfielder, which will keep the former Schalke ace in Munich until June 2026.
The club have been busy extending deals this past year, and Leon will join a list of key men who have all agreed new terms, including Jamal Musiala, Manuel Neuer, Alphonso Davies, Thomas Muller and Joshua Kimmich.
The Germany international has netted 25 goals and provided 26 assists in 117 appearances for Bayern Munich.
