Club legend Lothar Matthaus revealed that Bayern Munich will likely make a move for Red Bull Salzburg playmaker Dominik Szoboszlai.

Szoboszlai’s performances for Hungary and Salzburg over the past 18 months have established him as one of the finest youngsters in Europe.

While Bundeslgia outfits, RB Leipzig are regarded as the frountrunners to secure the services of the the 20-year-old alongside with Arsenal, Real Madrid and AC Milan are also keeping close tabs on his situation.

According to Matthaus, German champions will soon join that list of teams having played a comparison between the playmaker and the Blues big money signing Kai Havertz.

Speaking to Abendzeitung Muenchen, Matthaus said: “There is Dominik Szoboszlai, who scored the decisive goal against Iceland. He’s a gem, a guy like Kai Havertz.

“In Hungary he is already being compared to the great Ferenc Puskas. A really great player who sometimes acts in the centre and sometimes comes over the flank.

“He could move to RB Leipzig in January, but I’m convinced that every top European club has him on the list, including FC Bayern.”

Szoboszlai has just over 18 months left on his current deal at Salzburg and both Arsenal and Bayern Munich are possible destinations for him.
