Bavarians are et to renew their interest in Callum Hudson-Odoi, with the Bundesliga giants increasingly hopeful Chelsea will listen to offers for their attacker. Bayern Munich came close to signing U21 England international last year but the forward ended up remaining at Chelsea and signing a five-year deal worth £180,000 a week.
But there is a feeling at Allianz Arena that Callum may still be available during this transfer window, which closes on October 5.
Blues strengthened their front-line hugely over the summer, addition Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner and Kai Havertz. With Christian Pulisic and Mason Mount also vying for attacking midfield slots, a contest for places will be fierce and that could mean Hudson-Odoi finds his playing-time restricted.
The 19-year-old winger, who came on as a late substitute in Monday’s 3-1 victory over Brighton, knows he needs to be playing regularly to regain his place in the senior England squad before next summer’s European Championship.
As a result, Bavarians are set to launch another effort to land the English winger and believe Blues will consider bids for the teenager. Juventus are also understood to be monitoring the Callum situation closely. Meanwhile, Blues are on the brink of signing Stade Rennais shot-stopper Edouard Mendy as a contest for Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Chelsea will not sell Kepa Arrizabalaga unless they can recoup a large part of the £72m fee they paid in 2018. Spain international conceded another soft goal in Blues PL opener and no shot-stopper has been beaten more by shots from outside the box since he joined from Athletic Bilbao.
