Boca Juniors have reportedly made talks with Manchester United’s forward Edinson Cavani over a potential switch to the Argentine team in the summer of 2022.
The 33-year-old joined the Red Devils on a free transfer last summer and has been in stunning form for the 20-time English giants, founding back of the net seven times in 23 games in all competitions.
Cavani’s current deal at Old Trafford is set to expire this summer, however, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are believed to take up a 12-month option on his contract, committing the forward to the team until June 2022.
According to ESPN Argentina, Boca are keen on to sign the Uruguay international next season, and the Argentine club’s vice president Juan Roman Riquelme has already has been in private talks with the entourage of Edinson Cavani.
Former Paris Saint-Germain forward has become a vital player for the Red Devils in recent weeks, founding back of the net six times in the Premier League, including efforts in his team’s last two games in England’s top flight.
Boca recently signed Argentine centre-back Marcos Rojo from the Red Devils and Cavani could be next to depart from Premier League giants.
