Braga defender David Carmo has reportedly emerged as shock transfer target for Man Utd

The 21-year-old, who was rumoured with switch to AS Roma and Fiorentina in the summer transfer window, only made his Primeira Liga debut in January and has since appeared to play 23 games in Portugal’s top-tier.

Carmo has missed Braga’s last two games in the Portuguese League games through suspension, however, was a constant in the early stages of the 2020-21 season, having already eight games on his name in all competitions.

According to ESPN, the 20-times English champions are keen on to add a central defender in the January transfer window following the injury problems of Eric Bailly, and Braga defender who helped Portugal’s Under-19 side win the 2018 Under-19 European Championships seem to be on top of their radar.

The report, though, suggests that the Red Devils would have to shift either Mrcos Rojo or Phil Jones, who are both out of favour at Old Trafford, to make a move for Carmo.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side also continue to be rumoured with securing the services of RB Leipzig’s centre-back Dayot Upamecano and Schalke 04 sta Ozan Kabak, however, they will face stiff competition from the arch-rivals Liverpool.
