Brighton midfielder tipped to make move to Liverpool

John Barnes thinks Yves Bissouma ‘has the ability’ to play at Liverpool and feels he would be a perfect replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum.

The Dutchman’s future remains undecided. His deal expires at the end of the season and Georginio has been heavily linked with a switch to Barcelona.

With his future uncertain, the Reds are thought to be surveying their options and John feels the Brighton man would be a ‘good fit’.

The 24-year-old has been the standout player in the Seagulls’ midfield this season and has been linked with a transfer to one of the Premier League’s top sides in the summer transfer market.

And Barnes thinks he’d have no problems slotting into the ‘template’ of the Reds midfield.

‘Yves Bissouma has the ability to play at a team like Liverpool. He could fill what Jurgen Klopp wants from the three midfield players,’ he told Bonus Code Bets.

‘He is strong defensively, he works hard, he plays the ball quickly and every now and then when he needs to dribble, as much as we don’t speak about Brighton, you know he can do it, because he has [in the past].

‘Of all the players playing in England, that could fit the template of Liverpool’s midfield three, he is one of them. He is 24 and young, he would be a great fit.’
