Chelsea defensive midfielder N’Golo Kante is reportedly prepared to miss the rest of the 2019-20 Premier League season due to fears from the coronavirus pandemic.
There is no guarantee that Premier League will be allowed to safely resume in the coming weeks, although it is being widely reported that in June the competition will return.
Kante trained with the West London club on Tuesday but allegedly missed the team’s sessions on both Wednesday and Thursday due to concerns overspreading the disease to his family.
According to Sky Sports News, Frenchman is prepared to miss the rest of the current campaign and ‘has the full support’ of manager Frank Lampard, in addition to the team’s board.
The 29-year-old defensive midfielder has had his injury problems this season, however, has still featured on 22 appearences for his London club in all competitions, including 18 appearences in the Premier League.
The West London club are currently fourth in the Premier League table, three points clear of fifth-placed Man Utd, who have also played 29 of their scheduled 38 games this campaign.
N’Golo Kante currently earns £150,000 per week at Stamford Bridge, however, has been recently rumoured with a switch to PSG and Real Madrid.
