Arsenal and Chelsea long-term target Kostas Manolas will reportedly see his release clause scrapped as part of a new contract in Rome.
Calciomercato report that the Serie A giants are working on a number of a new contract for their players and they hope to get rid of any bargain deals for potential suitors in the coming future.
The Greek centre-back was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea and Arsenal last season and has emerged as a target on a number of top European teams over recent years, however, he opted to remain in Serie A.
Greek international defender looked set to depart AS Roma in the summer of 2017, with offers from Chelsea and hosts of European clubs.
He was also rumoured with a switch to Chelsea during the most recent summer transfer with former Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri keen to strengthen his squad defensively.
Roma’s sporting director Monchi is hoping to get Greek centre-back promising midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini as well as experienced pair Edin Dzeko and Daniele De Rossi to pen new deals at the club.
