Chelsea and Manchester City have registered an interest in 28-year-old RC Lens star Jonathan Clauss, it has been reported in Germany.
The Premier League pair still have the UEFA Champions League final to play but have started planning for next campaign, with the transfer market fast approaching.
The Citizens are keen to go from strength to strength having lifted the Premier League trophy, while the BLues are determined to build on the progress they have made under manager Thomas Tuchel.
Both sides want to add strength to the right flank of their defence and are said to have identified a possible signing in the French top flight.
According to German magazine Kicker, the aforementioned outfits have expressed an interest in Sang et Or’s wing-back Clauss.
La Liga side Sevilla are also touted with an interest in the star, who could be available for a sum in the region of €6 million to €10 million.
Clauss joined the Stade Bollaert-Delelis outfit from German club, Arminia Bielefeld, on a free transfer last year and has gone on to establish himself as an important player for the Ligue 1 side.
The Frenchman has netted three goals and provided six assists from 32 league matches for Lens, who finished the 2020/21 term in seventh position in the standings.
