Chelsea will reportedly rival Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in a bid to secure the signature of Leeds United youngster Jack Clarke in January transfer window.
The Daily Mirror reports that the two Premier League clubs will battle it out for the forward, with both clubs identifying him as a prospect for the future.
It is stated that both Manchester City and Chelsea will launch an offer in January, but it remains to be seen if the star would stay with the EFL Championship club until the end of the season, with playing time far more likely in the second tier.
The Citizens have been long-term admirers and attempted to poach him from the Leeds United academy before he had put pen to paper on a professional contract at his side.
They were unsuccessful in their reported pursuit, and Clarke now finds himself on the fringes of the senior-team team at Elland Road having come through the ranks at the club.
Clarke made his Championship debut back in October, and the 18-year-old wonderboy has continued to impress under Argentine manager Marcelo Bielsa.
