Chelsea and Tottenham keeping tabs on 22-year-old Serie A star valued at £18.9m

Tottenham and Chelsea sent scouts to keep close tabs on AS Roma 22-year-old star Amadou Diawara in their 2-1 loss to Juventus this weekend, it’s been reported.

The former Napoli man has caught the eye of both London teams after only joining Roma last summer in a £18.9million deal.

According to reports, scouts from both Spurs and the Blues were present at the Stadio Olimpico to witness him in action.

It is believed that the Spurs have had long term interest in the midfielder, regularly keeping tabs on him and his performance in Serie A.

Making 11 Serie A appearences and five Europa League games in the 2019/2020 so far, the defensive-minded midfielder could be a perfect addition whilst his spatial awareness in and out of possession is a joy to watch.

The young talent seemed to impress regardless of his team’s struggles on Sunday evening, making more passes than any other player in AS Roma, finalising an impressive 95.2 per cent of his 62 attempted passes.

Italian giants are under no pressure to sell their creative player and therefore those interested will have to splash money in order to secure his services.

A move to the English top-tier might be tempting for the promising midfielder, however, Diawara has made it clear he is only finding his feet at AS Roma, meaning he may be reluctant to depart from Stadio Olimpico.
