Chelsea star Willian has strengthened his side’s resolve to keep him by letting it be known that he’d reject any offer to come his way from Serie A outfit Juventus.
The Brazilian netted on his 300th appearance in the club’s 2-1 win against Lille in France last week.
Willian is free to sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs from January 1, with his deal set to expire next summer.
Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri is a big fan and made full use of the attacker’s talents while in charge at the Blues last season.
He made 56 matches in Sarri’s sole campaign at Stamford Bridge, netting eight goals and contributing 14 assists.
But according to the Daily Express, the player has told friends that he has no desire to link up with the Italian tactician again.
The news will be music to the ears of Chelsea chief Frank Lampard who wants to keep the experienced 31-year-old South American in west London.
The club are likely to offer the one-time Shakhtar Donetsk star a new one year contract as he is over 30. Willian wants to stay at Chelsea as he is now settled in the capital.
The star has won two Premier League titles, the FA Cup and the UEFA Europa League in his spell at the club.
Speaking about the player, Frank said: “I have got no news on the Willian contract. That’s a conversation between Willy, his representatives and the club. Everyone can see I’m happy with Willy on the pitch.”
