Chelsea are planning a transfer for West Ham striker Andy Carroll, as per reports.
Alvaro Morata, 25, had an excellent start to his Chelsea career following his club-record summer move, but the Spaniard’s goals have wiped up in last weeks and he missed some big opportunities in the side’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal.
Antonio Conte has not been affected with Michy Batshuayi since getting over the reigns and is teasing with the plan of letting the Belgian leave in the January transfer window. The Sun hints Carroll is the latest name on Chelsea’s shortlist to come in and help Morata at Stamford Bridge. Carroll has only scored two goals for the Hammers this season and continued a disappointing two-year spell at Liverpool following a high-profile £35m transfer.
It’s understood England striker is also on Southampton’s radar after Charlie Austin’s recent hamstring damage.
‘If he does the possibilities will arrive for him and also for the other footballers. I repeat I know for the forward’s it’s not easy when you don’t score. ‘But don’t disregard for Alvaro this is the first time he’s played exactly because he didn’t play daily with Juventus or Real Madrid.
‘But I’m very happy for his dedication and the way he’s playing. He has to stay patient and to remain to play this way and the goal is coming.’
