Newcastle United have pinpointed Chelsea forward Timo Werner as a possible recruit, while the star’s agency are in regular touch with the Magpies.
Having been purchased by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, the club are expected to make significant investments to bolster their squad in the immediate future.
While appointing a new head coach and a sporting director are currently high on the wishlist, the Magpies have been mentioned with a number of players since the takeover.
There have been reports that the new owners are keen to give the club an elite English spine, while the side have also been touted with an interest in top talents across the continent.
According to German outlet Bild, Timo is one player Newcastle United hold an interest in ahead of the January transfer window.
Blues man’s agency already have a client at the St. James’ Park outfit in Fabian Schar and are understood to be in regular contact with them.
With the winter transfer market fast approaching, it remains to be seen if they intend to step up their reported interest in the German in January.
Werner has netted two goals and provided one assist from eight games across all competitions for Chelsea this campaign.
