Chelsea head-coach Maurizio Sarri is looking to sign AC Milan defensive duo Alessio Romagnoli and Mattia Caldara. according to a report.
Former Napoli boss is believed to have prioritised signing a centre-back in the New Year and keeping tabs on his pair.
Italian outlet Calciomercato suggests that the Blues will attempt to bring in cover at the earliest possible opportunity, with Caldara and Romagnoli topping Sarri’s January wishlist.
Romagnoli only recently signed a new deal with the San Siro giants, though, while Caldara has joined them from Serie A defending champions Juventus during the summer window, meaning that Chelsea may have their work cut out.
Both players are highly rated in Italy and it is believed that only a big offer will persuade AC Milan to sell them in January.
Chelsea have won their opening four Premier League games since the arrivals of Maurizio Sarri, conceding three goals in the process.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are keeping tabs on another AC Milan star Suo who is believed to be valued at €50m by Italian giants.
