FC Dallas attacker Ricardo Pepi has revealed he’d love to join Chelsea, with a transfer to Europe very much now in the player’s plans.
He has emerged as one of the most exciting talents in the Major League Soccer (MLS) over the last year, with 11 goals in 14 matches for North Texas Soccer Club and 16 in 55 for the Toros.
This season he has been one of the stars of the game, with 13 goals and two assists in 27 matches to his name so far.
His form hasn’t gone unnoticed in Europe, with multiple sides thought to be interested in bringing him across the pond in the immediate future.
One of those are Dutch giants Ajax, who, have a long history of signing talent from around the globe that they can develop.
Pepi surely fits into that bill, and Ricardo has confirmed that the claims of their interest are true, but he’d actually like a switch to a big club like Chelsea.
“It would be good for both my family and me to play in Europe. I think now is the time to do that,” Voetbal Primeur report Pepi saying.
“Certainly, it (the Eredivisie) is a competition where many young players play. I am still young and have a lot to learn.
“I would like to play at Real Madrid one day. Or Chelsea, or another big club. But the Dutch league has a lot of potential and is beneficial for young players. There is a lot of interest.”
