Chelsea are reportedly plotting £27m for Getafe’s key player Marc Cucurella.
The 21-year-old, who recently signed a permanent contract with the La Liga outfit from Barcelona, impressed in the 2019-20 season as he registered one goal and provided assists in 37 appearances.
The Blues are believed to be in the market for a new defender at the left-back position and have been strongly linked with a swoop for Leicester City’s key man Ben Chilwell, however, the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic could see Frank Lampard to look for a cheaper alternative.
According to AS, the West London club have identified Cucurella as an ideal signing if they are unable to get the deal done for Ben Chilwell and lure him at Stamford Bridge ahead of the next season.
The report suggests that the Blues are ready to pay £27m to sign 22-year-old full-back who is under contract with Getafe until 2024.
Frank Lampard’s men have secured a spot in the Champions League for the 2020-21 season after they enjoyed a 2-0 win over Wolves on the final day of the Premier League season and signing players could be easy for them at the moment.
