Newcastle United are keen on a move for Chelsea defensive target Niklas Sule, whose current deal at Bayern Munich expires next June, according to a German daily Bild.

They have entered a new era of ownership having seen a Saudi Arabia-backed consortium purchased the club from Mike Ashley last week.

The Magpies’ new hierarchy are tipped to completely restructure the side and they’re exploring the possibility of hiring a new manager and even a new sporting director.

Newcastle are expected to also look to revamp their roster in the upcoming transfer markets and have already been linked with a number of players across Europe and it has been stated that they are also interested in a move for Die Roten centre-back Sule.

The German star is also a target of Thomas Tuchel’s side, with the Blues manager being a big admirer of his qualities on the field.

Niklas is yet to commit to a fresh contract at the Allianz Arena with his existing deal set to expire in the summer.

As such the player can sign a pre-contract agreement with a potential buyer when the winter transfer market opens in January. All Rights Reserved 2019
