German Goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has reportedly decided to put pen on a new deal at Barcelona, despite interest from hosts of European teams including Chelsea.
Despite having been a first-team regular at Nou Camp in recent years, it has recently been reported that the Germany keeper could depart from the club following to a contract dispute.
At a time when they are trying to part ways with Spanish goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga, the Blues quickly emerged as a possible destination for the 28-year-old.
However, according to The Express, Ter Stegen is now ready to sign a new deal and commit his future to the La Liga runners-up.
The report claims that terms have been agreed regarding a deal which will keep him at his current team until 2025.
Since his arrival at Nou Camp back in 2014, Ter Stegen has played 234 games in all competitions.
Ter Stegen’s new deal at the club means that Chelsea now have to look elsewhere to strengthen their goalkeeping options and world-class players like Jan Oblak and exciting young talent Dean Henders has been rumoured with a switch to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea ended 2019/20 season on top four securing the spot in the next campaigns Champions League and after secure the services of Hakim Zyech and Timo Werner they could fight for all possible trophies.
