Real Madrid centre-back Raphael Varane reportedly has a pre-agreement with Premier League giants Manchester United to join on a five-year deal.

The news will come as a huge blow for Chelsea and PSG as both of them mentioned as a possible destination for Frenchman if he departs from 13-times Champions League winners.

The 20-times English champions have allegedly identified French centre-back as their leading transfer target this summer, and the club are believed to be in advanced talks with Real Madrid over a transfer fee.

According to ABC Deportes, the France international has reached a pre-agreement to join Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side on a five-year deal worth £10.3m per year, meaning that Chelsea have to look elsewhere to strengthen their backline ahead of the 2021/22 season.

The report suggests that Man United have offered £38.6m for the World Cup-winning defender, however, Los Blancos are looking for a fee of £47.2m plus add-ons for a 28-year-old star who will be out of contract next June.

Varane, who represented his country at Euro 2020, is believed to be keen to seek pastures new during this summer’s transfer window.

Chelsea and Man Utd also keeping tabs on Brighton centre-back Ben White who has been valued at £50m.
