Chelsea in advanced talks to agree deal for 18-year-old forward

Dario Osorio has emerged on the radars of Chelsea, Man City and Liverpool, among other big teams around England and Europe. The 18-year-old forward, like Alexis Sanchez, is expected to move out of Chile as transfer speculation continues to mount over his future.

Chilean football has stagnated for several years now, as the country has not produced the precarious talents of the past. The previous generations included footballers like Alexis Sanchez, Arturo Vidal and Gary Medel, but a new wave of teenagers could be coming in the next years.

The likes of Ben-Brereton Diaz and Dario Osorio have emerged on the radars of some high-profile European teams. Osorio has been plying his trade in England, but the latter is a raw, unpolished diamond from Chile. Dario has already shown his mettle with mature displays for Universidad de Chile and has many high-profile sides chasing his signature.

As things stand, Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City are keen on U23 Chile international, with each of those PL teams keen on strengthening their core of young stars. The Chilean forward certainly is considered one of the top-rated stars in his age group.

The Blues could be a major contender in this pursuit after new owner Todd Boehly signalled his intention regarding future squads. Having spent heavily in the market to acquire senior footballers, Chelsea also brought in talents like Carney Chukwuemeka and Omari Hutchison in that window.
