Chelsea in danger to lose 24-year-old centre-back in January

Contract talks between Andreas Christensen and Chelsea have allegedly reached an impasse because of a lack of contact between the two sides over the last two months.

The Dane star has been a key figure under the German manager Thomas Tuchel at Stamford Bridge, but his existing deal at the west London side is due to expire next summer.

Having failed to reach an agreement over fresh terms thus far, Andreas can negotiate a pre-contract agreement with foreign teams from January 1.

According to Goal, the most recent proposal is a four-year contract including the option of an extra 12 months, but it’d keep the centre-half in line with the lower earners in the roster.

The report adds that talks over a contract extension have stalled and there has been little contact since the last month of the summer.

Another defender Antonio Rudiger’s contract situation is also up in the balance, with the German star’s existing deal also running out at the end of the term – attracting interest from the likes of Bayern Munich.

He is said to be interested in remaining at the Premier League outfit but is not satisfied with the current proposal on the table.
