Manchester United planing to make a stunning swap deal offer for Atletico Madrid which would see Paul Pogba and Antoine Griezmann head in opposite directions, as per Spanish sources.
The ex-Juventus attacking midfielder has endured an inconsistent second campaign at Old Trafford which saw him drop out of Jose Mourinho’s first-team contention on several occasions.
Griezmann, meanwhile, has been in private talks with Atletico Madrid chiefs regarding his future, however, has long been linked with a switch to Old Trafford.
According to Don Balon, the Red Devils are hoping to steal a march on other suitors by offering Pogba Atletico Madrid for their star player who has €100m (£88.1m) release clause in his deal at Wandametropolitano.
However, the report acknowledges that the Reds midfielder is likely to command huge wages, with Atleti chiefs not thought to be keen on the idea of smashing their wage budget.
Griezmann is now in his fourth season at Diego Simeone’s side, a tenure which has seen him found the back of the net 79 times in 141 La Liga appearances.
