Spanish champions, Barcelona are reportedly unwilling to meet the current contract demands of German stopper Marc-Andre ter Stegen and it will come as a huge transfer boost for Premier League giants Chelsea.
Since moving to the Catalan club back in 2014, German keeper has played 224 games in all competitions, establishing himself as one of the goalkeepers in the world attracting interest from hosts of teams.
According to Goal.com, the 27-year-old keep wants huge pay rise on his current salary at Spanish giants, making him the second-highest earner at the Catalan club.
However, the report claims that the La Liga defending champions have no intention of agreeing to German keeper’s request of wanting a deal worth £13m per year.
Although the Germany international still has over two years left on his current deal, the lack of progress in negotiations will inevitably alert other teams.
Chelsea have recently been rumoured with a move for Ter Stegen as they consider him as a perfect replacement for their record signing Kepa Arrizabalaga who has failed to cement place in the starting XI due to his sloppy performances in the goal and 38-year-old Willy Caballero has been preferred over Spaniard in the recent games by Frank Lampard.
