According to the reports, Chelsea have are interested in signing Burnley striker Ashley Barnes.
The Stamford Bridge side are understood to be in the market for a tall centre-forward this month and have been linked with the likes of Stoke City veteran Peter Crouch and West Ham United striker Andy Carroll.
However, the Hammers forward Carroll is injured and 36-year-old Crouch only signed a new Stoke City deal at the end of last year, prompting Chelsea to look elsewhere.
As per the Sky Sports News, the 28-year-old Barnes is the latest name on the radar of the reigning Premier League champions.
The 6’1″ striker has featured in 23 of Burnley’s 24 matches so far this term but has just four goals to his name, in addition to just three Premier League starts.
Ashley Barnes has spent the vast majority of his professional career in the lower leagues, having played for the likes of Plymouth Argyle, Oxford United and Torquay United.
Alongside Burnley forward, Chelsea are also intersted in signing AS Roma star Edin Dzeko, as the Blues manager Antonio Conte is desperate to bring back up option for Alvaro Morata in attack.
