Chelsea have allegedly identified Leicester City star Youri Tielemans as a possible summer transfer target.
While the player is a key player at the King Power Stadium outfit, it has long been touted that he won’t extend his Foxes deal past 2023.
That has naturally led to widespread interest in the Belgium international, who is reportedly in favour of a move to Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid should the summer opportunity arise.
However, according to a report from AS, the Blues are ready to rival a host of their Premier League rivals in the hunt for Tielemans’s signature.
With N’Golo Kante and Jorginho both the wrong side of 30 and both players’ own long-term futures up in the balance, manager Thomas Tuchel is open to lowering the age of the stars in the centre of the field.
The report adds that Arsenal and Manchester United also continue to watch the situation, although they are not likely to emerge as realistic locations without UEFA Champions League football.
Elsewhere, Carlo Ancelotti has supposedly called on his side to do everything possible to snap up Chelsea defender Reece James at the earliest opportunity.
Although previous claims have stated that the La Liga giants may wait until the summer of 2023 before launching an offer for the Blues star, it is now said that a summer swoop could be made for the Englishman.
