Chelsea are reportedly exploring the possibility of securing the services of Manchester United starlet Angel Gomes for free in the summer.
The 19-year-old attacking midfielder has played six first-team games for the 20-times English champions this campaign, however, has not featured since early January amid the uncertainty around his future.
Indeed, the Englishman will see his current deal at Man Utd expire in the summer and unlike Tahith Chong, the talented midfielder is yet to commit his future to the Red Devils.
According to Metro, The Red Devils have offered him a deal of £25,000 a week, however, Gomes’s agents feel that he deserves a better pay rise on his current salary.
The report suggests that the Blues are keeping tabs on the situation closely, and the West London club’s head-coach Frank Lampard is keen to bring him to Stamford Bridge at the end of the campaign.
Gomes has played two Premier League games for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side this season.
Meanwhile, another Manchester United talent Dean Henderson has been rumoured with a switch to Stamford Bridge as Frank Lampard is in the market for Kepa Arrizabalaga’s replacement.
The 22-year-old keeper has been in stunning form during his loan time at Sheffield United.
