Presnel Kimpembe is reportedly questioning his long-term future at Paris Saint-Germain and could be ‘tempted’ by a transfer to Chelsea to reunite with manager Thomas Tuchel.
The German chief was desperate to sign a new defender last summer but the Blues failed in a move for Sevilla youngster Jules Kounde.
They have retained their interest in the Frenchman but they are unwilling to meet the player’s £72m release clause.
That has forced them to look elsewhere and L’Equipe state Chelsea also failed in a move for Les Parisiens captain Marquinhos last summer.
But this time around it is a move for Presnel that could be on the cards as the star is uncertain about his future at Le Parc des Princes.
Presnel came through the ranks in Paris but he’s believed to be questioning the constant changing of direction in the team and is unsure where he stands under manager Mauricio Pochettino.
It’s stated the Frenchman has always felt a switch to the Premier League would be an advisable next step in his professional career and that the lure of working with Thomas again is a ‘tempting’ one.
Thomas guided Chelsea to the UEFA Champions League success last season, something which the tough-tackling defender is yet to taste in France.
