Chelsea planning January move for £70m-rated Englishman

Chelsea could reportedly renew their interest in West Ham United versatile midfielder, Declan Rice during the winter transfer window.

The West London club were heavily linked with the England international this summer’s transfer window, however, the Hammers allegedly signalled that they would not be prepared to sell the defensive-minded midfielder for under £70m.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, England international midfielder stays a top transfer target for Frank Lampard’s side, and the London heavyweights are believed to return for the 21-year-old in the nearby future.

Frank Lampard’s side could therefore make an attempt to secure the services of the Englishman in the winter transfer window, although they are again likely to face serious resistance from the Hammers.

Rice has not missed a minute of Premier League games this campaign and has captained the London outfits in three of their four league games during the 2020-21 season.

The English midfielder has a deal at the London Stadium until the summer of 2024.

West Ham United another star Issa Diop has been also rumoured with a switch to Chelsea and Manchester United as both team are planning to strengthen their defensive options when the transfer window will be re-opened in January.
