Chelsea and Liverpool are reportedly both interested in securing the services of Newcastle United versatile forward Allan Saint-Maximin when the transfer window will be re-opened in the summer.
The 24-year-old has been in stunning form at the start of the 2021-22 Premier League campaign, founding back of the net twice and providing three assists in six games.
Meanwhile, the Frenchman has scored nine goals and 14 assists in 63 appearances for the Magpies since arriving at St James Park from Ligue 1 outfits, Nice back in 2019
According to Calciomercato, both Premier League giants, Liverpool and Chelsea are showing ‘great interest’ in the forward, with Magpies facing a battle to keep hold of him in 2022.
The report, though, suggests that Steve Bruce’s side are not open to negotiating in January and would only be prepared to enter into transfer discussions next summer.
Saint-Maximin still has five years left before his deal expires at St James’ Park and it gives Newcastle United an advantage while discussing his transfer fee.
Both Liverpool and Chelsea have started their Premier League season strong sitting on top of the league table, however, they have already started to think for the future transfer window and Newcastle United forward has been on their shortlists.
