Chelsea secured their place in the FA Cup final, however, this season has been terrible for Antonio Conte’s side that have won the Premier League title last campaign.
The Blues were stunning in securing last year’s Premier League title and, while forced changes in personnel undoubtedly played a part in the defence for the title.
And once again this summer it is expected to see massive squad overhaul at Stamford Bridge and one name reportedly high on their list is PSG’s on-loan forward Gonçalo Guedes who has impressed at Valencia this term and attracted interest from hosts of European club’s including Chelsea.
The Portuguese international has enjoyed an excellent campaign at Mestalla and, with his parent club reportedly planning to sell him in order to avoid transfer ban following the big money arrivals of Neymar and Kylan Mbappe.
Guedes has only missed 6 games the Spanish top-tier this campaign, but Valencia’s form has nosedived when he has been unavailable. Their win ratio has dropped from 64% to just 33% as they’ve struggled at both ends of the pitch.
At 21 years of age, Guedes has found the back of the net for four times and created nine chances for his teammates, and it shows that he’s already able to contribute significantly on the top level.
It’s clear that the Blues squad needs freshening up, with their attack lacking consistency and fluidity for much of the campaign, and Portuguese forward could be a fantastic addition to Antonio Conte’s starting lineup.
