Maurizio Sarri is likely to dip into the transfer market in January if Gary Cahill leaves.
the centre-back has admitted he will look to leave Stamford Bridge in January if he does not get regular playing time under the new boss.
England international said: “For me to do this all season is going to be very difficult. “I sometimes realise football doesn’t wait for people. Sometimes you have to make those decisions to keep going and progressing.
“The most important thing is the club, but I have to look at my situation. And if I’m sat doing what I’m doing at this moment in time, I just hope that the club will respect that when it comes to the time.”
Southampton legend Le Tissier does not think the defender’s comments will be an issue for Maurizio Sarri and reckons the Italian will know how the 32-year-old feels.
And he sees Maurizio Sarri looking for a replacement for the veteran if he does leave the club.
“They have to adapt with the players they’ve got there and if he has to go out and do a little bit of business in January, then so be it.” Le Tissier said.
“They’ve got the funds to do that, so as long as he manages the situation finely then I don’t think it’s a problem in the dressing room.”
