According to the Spanish media outlets, Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte is ready to launch a stunning raid for Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale.
It was reported by Don Balon, who reckon the Italian chief was to reinvest the cash banked from Diego Costa’s sale.
Costa is formally heading to his former club Atletico Madrid in January for around £58m. And Antonio Conte is reportedly ready to put that money to good use with an ambitious swoop for the Wales international.
The same sources also claim that Chelsea wants to partner Bale in an Alvaro Morata and Eden Hazard trio.
It is believed that Antonio Conte is well aware that signing the Wales international won’t be easy. However, he’s convinced the club’s profile can help convince Bale to quit Madrid for west London.
Don Balon insists the days of the 28-year-old winger at the Santiago Bernabeu are numbered and a move to Stamford Bridge could be lucrative for him.
Chelsea are cash rich and might be ready to offer him a hefty pay rise. They could face stiff competition for his signature, though.
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is a long-term admirer and would love to bring Bale to Old Trafford.
Bale moved to Spain from Spurs in 2013 but struggled last term. He missed 23 games in the 2016/17 season through injury and he’s currently sidelined with a left calf problem.
