Chelsea have reportedly turned down a £35million bid from Real Madrid for Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
The 26-year-old star is one of a number of stopper being rumoured with a move to Los Blancos during the summer transfer window in what looks to be a priority area to strengthen for new Real Madrid manager Lopetegui.
Mundo Deportivo have also linked the Los Blancos with a move for Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson. However, it seems they won’t be getting Courtois.
Di Marzio suggests that Brazilian keeper is now their priority after the Blues turned down £35m for Belgian goalkeeper, which is frankly not at all surprising after a ridiculous bid for one of the best stopper in Europe.
Still, this could be a concern for Antonio Conte’s side as their number one heads into the final year of his current deal at Chelsea.
The longer this goes on, the less Blues will realistically be able to command for a player who could quit the club for free next campaign.
Courtois may well have doubts over his future at Stamford Bridge right now after a disappointing campaign for the club in which they finished fifth meaning they have missed out Champions League football next season.
For the time being, however, it seems Chelsea will not be bullied into selling a world class player for such a lower price.
Chelsea have decided to active the release clause of Greek international defender Kostas Manolas’ in a bid to sign him this summer, according to reports.
Former Napoli boss is still expected to replace Antonio Conte as the Blues head-coach, and Sarri has started to draw up a shortlist of transfer targets.
It has long been reported that the Italian boss wants to bring a new centre-back at Stamford Bridge, however, Alfredo Pedulla says Sarri actually plans to sign two players to strengthen defensive options.
Kalidou Koulibaly of Napoli, and Daniele Rugani Juventus, however, the report states that it is actually Manolas who has been on top of Sarri’s wishlist.
The 27-year-old Greek defender has joined AS Roma from Olympiacos back in 2014, and he made 40 appearances last season one of his most notable games came against Barcelona in the historical semi-finals where Manolas managed to found the back of the net.
Kostas Manolas has a release clause of around £33million (€38m), and the report states the Blues have decided to trigger it to open negotiations with the Greek defender.
CHELSEA will reportedly make raid on Serie A if Maurizio Sarri’s replaces Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are preparing for a summer overhaul after missing out on top four finish last season.
And Sarri is poised to replace Antonio Conte after Napoli appointed Carlo Ancelotti as his successor at Stadio Sao Paolo.
Sarri is believed to already drawing up a list of targets, which includes Gonzalo Higuain of Juventus and his teammate Daniele Rugani.
According to Tuttosport, Serie A giants Inter Milan are not ruling out selling Vecino who has appeared to be a transfer target for Sarri.
And it will cost around £26m (€30m) to secure the services of Uruguayan star.
The Blues ’s interest in getting Vecino on their books will be driven by Sarri, who tied to sign him during his time at Napoli.
However, the Blues will not have it all their own way with two Premier League rivals Tottenham and Everton are also keen on to secure the services of Vecino.
Alongside Vecino, Higuaín and Rugani are believed to be a top transfer target for Sarri if he replaces Antonio Conte.
