Chelsea and Man Utd go head-to-head to sign 6 ft 5 Serie A star
AC Milan stopper Gianluigi Donnarumma has reportedly emerged as a surprise transfer target for Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester United.
Despite his status as first-choice goalkeeper at San Siro, Donnarumma has just over four months left on his current deal with the Serie A heavyweights.
Although the 21-year-old is allegedly willing to pen fresh terms, PSG and Chelsea are believed to be monitoring the situation.
According to Fichajes, the Red Devils may join the race to secure the services of Donnarumma at a time when they are contemplating the sale of their long-serving keeper, David de Gea.
The long-time number one has remained ahead of Dean Henderson in the pecking order this campaign, a decision from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer which has divided opinion among the teams fanbase.
However, eyeing an opportunity to sign a ready-made replacement on a free transfer, the report suggests that the Red Devils may be willing to sell De Gea during the summer transfer window.
Chelsea meantime, despite signing Edourad Mendy recently still looking a world-class goalkeeper in order to strengthen their team and AC Milan star seems to be a perfect addition to either Blues or Man Utd.

Marcos Alonso is reportedly open to signing a new deal with Chelsea, having been a vital player for Thomas Tuchel following his arrival at Stamford Bridge.
The Spaniard appeared to be on his way out of the West London club following to his struggles for action under Frank Lampard, with the 30-year-old defender only making three Premier League appearences under the Englishman during the 2020-21 campaign.
Alonso has featured in five of the Blues six games under Tuchel in the English top-tier, though, and now looks to be ahead of Ben Chilwell in the pecking order for the left-sided forward position.
According to The Sun, the Spaniard is keen to sign a new deal with the London heavyweights as he appears to be an vital part of the new manager’s plans moving forward.
Alonso’s existing contract in the capital is due to expire in June 2023, however, the ex-Real Madrid starlet is believed to be looking for an extension until the end of the 2023-24 season.

Chelsea set to make opening £78m bid for 23-goals forward
Chelsea are reportedly considering to make a £78m move for Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland in the summer.
The 20-year-old is enjoying an outstanding season with Dortmund, scoring 23 goals from just 21 appearances in the Bundesliga and Champions League.
Dortmund will be powerless to keep hold of the Norway international if any team activates a release clause which goes live in 2022.
However, according to WinSports, the Blues are determined to win the race for the emerging star by signing him at the end of the campaign.
While the alleged fee being considered by the West London club is above Haaland’s price tab, Dortmund are believed to wait for higher offers with Man City and Real Madrid also keeping tabs on the situation.
Dortmund have previously insisted that they have little interest in parting ways with Haaland until the end of the 2021-22 season.
