Deal Close: Lille determined to sign Chelsea ace this month

According to the Sun, Ligue 1 outfit Lille are reportedly in talks with Tariq Lamptey over summer move from Chelsea.

The Sun reports that the 19-year-old’s current contract with the West London club is set to expire at the end of the current campaign, leaving the defender free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement in January.

The Sun do add that the Blues are keen on tying the ace down to a new contract.

The England youth international has played three games across all competitions this campaign.

Lamptey made his debut for the West London club in last month’s mammoth games against their Premier League rivals Arsenal, the starlet showed that he can handle things in the deep end with an assured form in a high-pressure encounter.

Should Lamptey decide to make a switch to Lille in the summer, a deal would have to be agreed between the two teams or a fee would be determined by a tribunal.

Lille have a brilliant track record with developing starlet and we’ve seen several highly-rated English prospects move abroad in recent year to kickstart their careers.

This could prove to be a wise move for Lamptey, his chances of first-team opportunity could be limited in west London.

Fellow academy graduate and Reece James and club skipper Cesar Azpilicueta are currently ahead of Lamptey in the pecking order at the right-back position.

Real Madrid 22-year-old forward made decision over his future amid Chelsea transfer links

According to the Sun, Real Madrid summer signing Luka Jovic is set to remain with Zinedine Zidane’s side despite rumours linking him with a move to Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.

The Sun reports that a loan exit for the star seemed possible considering, how he has struggled to secure place in the starting XI as he has only considered as a back-up option for Karim Benzema.

However, their latest update indicates that despite interest from top teams from the Premier League Serbian forward will remain at Santiago Bernabeu for the second-half of the season and fight for the place in the starting XI.

The 22-year-old forward has joined the Spain capital outfit last summer from Eintracht Frankfurt an initial fee of €65m.

The Serbia international forward has experienced a bit-part role with Zidane’s side so far this campaign, contributing just 1 goal and two assists from 20 games across all competitions.

The Spurs seemed to be on the hunt for a new striker due to injury of their superstar Harry Kane and Chelsea could use him as well for a replacement to Tammy Abraham.

Jovic may have struggled, however, it seems harsh to write off the ace just yet, as he has been only 22 – the Serbian has plenty of time to prove his price-tag.

Real Madrid will need to count on every player within their team if they’re to continue their serious challenge for the La Liga trophy and also continue their successful run in the Champions League.

Chelsea identified 8-goals & 21-assists midfielder as top transfer target this summer

Chelsea have identified Leicester full-back Ben Chilwell and Ajax playmaker Hakim Ziyech as a priority for the summer transfer window, sources have told ESPN, however, the club are facing defeat in their attempts to secure the services of Napoli forward Dries Mertens this month despite Lampard being desperate to add another forward before the end of the winter transfer window.

Manager Frank Lampard has been given the green light to rebuild his team for the next season, with substantial funds available following the lifting of the teams two-window transfer ban.

And 23-year-old Leicester City defender and Morocco international forward are top of Lampard’s list as he attempts to replace Marcos Alonso who has struggled to cement his place in the starting XI since the arrival of Frank.

Sources have told ESPN that the Blues boss had been keen to secure the services of Belgium striker Mertens this month, however, the 32-year-old keen on to remain at Napoli, who have placed a prohibitive £40 million price tag on his head.

While the West London club could renew their interest in Dries Mertens at the end of the campaign, efforts will initially focus on overcoming interest from Man Utd and Man City in Chilwell who has impressed this term for Leicester City are in the third place in the Premier League.

The £80m-rated defender is expected to make Gareth Southgate’s team for Euro 2020 and Lampard believes he could offer the Blues the stability and quality at the defensive end that they have lacked since Ashley Cole’s exit back in 2014.

The 20-times English champions are also eyeing a move for Ziyech, however, the Blues have moved ahead of the Old Trafford outfit in the race to lure Marocoo international midfielder at Stamford Bridge.

Ziyech has scored 8 goals and provided 21 assists for Ajax in all competition this season.
