Chelsea have joined Manchester United, Everton, Tottenham and Arsenal in the hunt for ex-Liverpool starlet Rafael Camacho.

According to Football Insider, the Blues have joined their Premier League rivals in keeping a close eye on the 19-year-old winger.

The report states his performances since returning to his native Portugal have prompted scouts from top English clubs to knock on his door.

Camacho only left the PL last summer, leaving the Reds in a deal worth £7m and since, has featured in 16 matches for Sporting Lisbon.

The Portugal U20 international impressed in his final campaign in the Anfield club’s ranks, contributing towards 20 goals in as many U23s games last term.

In spite of the fact that Lampard has enough young talent to blood into the senior team and develop further, as well as the current first-team players from the academy, he is the sort of player Chelsea should be prioritising this summer.

In other news, Chelsea are close to completing a summer deal for the £40 million signing of Morocco international Hakim Ziyech from Ajax.

The attacker was one of chiefLampard’s top January targets and is now close to a summer move to Stamford Bridge, the PA news agency understands.

The Blues were unable to prise the creative Hakim away from Amsterdam last month, with Ajax refusing to sell midway through the campaign.

But now the Stamford Bridge management have made a crucial breakthrough that should lead to Frank’s first major signing as Chelsea boss.
